WHAT’S YOUR NUMBER?
Discuss with all parties involved in paying for the wedding what the total budget will
be and if there is any wiggle room. Make sure this number is based on realistic local costs. Having this firm number will allow a couple to book vendors without having to take each transaction to the money handler for approval. I’ve found that couples that are told they have no budget end up in more disagreements when it comes to cost of vendors because there may not be realistic expectations of cost involved.
THE BIG THREE
When planning out your budget, pick three categories that mean the most to you. Make sure that these items are booked first to ensure there is still room in the budget for exactly what you are hoping for. And remember to keep an open mind when having to cut in all other areas.
